We had 3 nights here at the end of our holiday and it was lovely. The hotel was very pretty with comfortable rooms and a pretty courtyard restaurant (not open on Mondays) pretty gardens and paddocks of horses and chickens pottering around which is rather nice. Lovely pool with lots of sunbeds. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Restaurant was nice but not amazing - we had one good night and one not so good! Breakfast was simple but nice and I would agree with another review that I would expect freshly squeezed orange juice! Local area lovely - santanyi very pretty with nice shops and restaurants. Es trenc beach is nice but watch out for nudists although they tend to stick to one area so can be avoided!

We had a nice and pleasant stay at Sa Galera and enjoyed the pool, nice food and fine people around. We will definetly come back. The beaches around are all very nice and beautiful. In the town nearby you will find good restaurants.

    • Pleasant & perfectly positioned

--We spent 5 nights at Sa Galera and really enjoyed our time. The hotel is perfectly positioned for seeing the East side of the islandwe spent days easily visiting Arta, Santanyi, Ses Salines, and 3 different beaches. --The staff is warm and welcoming, especially Pilar (what a gem!); the grounds, though not expansive, are pleasant and full of well-tended flowers; each room has its own outdoor terrace/seating area. Our room was quite large but had some shortcomings: the mattress was not comfortable (if they cant replace the mattresses, the hotel should at least consider some foam toppers!) and the bidet faucet was a mere trickle. Additionally, the hotel boasts some fauna: a pair of horses just a few steps away and a beautiful flock of roosters and hens which were far more entertaining than you might think! --The restaurant was ok for breakfast, fine for drinks, and of the 2 dinners, one was good and the other not so much. Breakfast was standard meat & cheese selection and eggs, fresh bread, a fresh pastry, fruit and yogurt, cereal for the kids. Of the 5 hotels we stayed in, this is the only one that quite noticeably did not serve fresh orange juice. Though the hotel did not seem to have a grove, neither did our city hotel in Palma (which served fresh squeezed juice). We also did not like the coffee robot, a large machine that makes an espresso or cappuccino with neither the expertise nor flair that a real person would. Of 5 hotels, 4 had one of these odious contraptions, so this seems sadly standard across Mallorca. Bummer! --I recommend the Saturday market in Santanyi (though it seems like busloads of people were there carted up from somewhere) and either Playa Santanyi or Playa Llombards (the waves were just wonderful and so fun!) if you like a beach with drinks and umbrellas. Try Cala SAlmunia if you are up for a hike and dont mind lack of beach facilities. --I also recommend Santanyi for some excellent shopping and restaurants. Its only a 10 minute drive on roads that are easy to navigate, even in the dark.

    • Very pretty and quiet but not a boutique hotel.

The surroundings and buildings are very pretty and extremely well maintained. The pool is excellent, deep and quite large. There are comfortable sun beds as well as two cabanas. However cushions are left out all night and as a consequence are covered in bird dirt and the pool is not cleared of debris. We had a junior suite which, albeit very clean, was very dated. The shower was over the bath and wasnt even high enough for us to stand under and the shower curtain rail was attached to the ceiling with a nylon tread. The bed was a super-king and was quite comfortable. The linen was pure cotton, but the bedlinen and in particular the towels, were very poor quality. The air com is old but not noisy and the room very dark. The food is ok, standard fruit, cheese and ham for breakfast with coffee from a machine. The dinner portions are large and again are ok, but nothing special. Be aware they do not serve lunch or dinner on a Monday. Very few people eat dinner at the hotel and although you can get drinks from an honesty bar, it isnt really set up to encourage a sociable bar scene and as a consequence is dead in the evening. I accept that Majorca is expensive (weve stayed in several hotels across the island) but for my 210 a night I would have expected more. Although the area is nice, there are many better areas to visit in Majorca. So for me I would think this hotel actually should deliver on being a boutique hotel - improve the rooms and increase the level of service on offer.
