This hotel is great we have just returned from a 10 nights here. The hotel is somewhat remote from Agios Nich a taxi is 10 each way but that was ok with us made us just relax and do nothing the whole time there! The hotel is clean and the staff are all very friendly and approachable. Food is good at the communal food hall and there are 3 separate bootable restaurants 2 for evenings and 1 for daytime lunch. These are all worth a try out the one drawback for us was that the Yamas grill was not open in the evenings which would have been better for us. The drinks are great on the AI and the several bars and staff soon get to know you. The animation team a good but compared to other resorts dont really interact with the guests and the programme is very predictive .... but the team are good as a team. I am sure that we would have saved time if we had been given information like bus times and excursions that we could book maybe the hotel should include this I. The welcome pack ? I liked the free WiFi throughout plus the free safe all the stay. Pool is salt water fine for us but a lot of the children suffered with salt in eyes etc. There is a beach area that belongs to the hotel which we found by chance beach is small and rocky but it is Crete after all ! A couple of weddings while we were there and have to agree it would be a perfect spot to tie the knot !0 Minus was the shuttle transfer from airport room 3 hours and we were the last drop off of course not the fault of the hotel but beware of this if booking a package deal folks. We had an incident were we left our camera at the bus stop but the staff on reception retrieved this for us when we phoned to say what we had done for this we are eternally grateful .... We would return 100% !!!

    • Very disappointing - 3* hotel at most

Stayed for 11 nights mid August Positives - The hotel was clean and the cleaner was very friendly. - There were panoramic sea views from the bar and a la carte restaurants. - The outside areas were clean, including the pool and beach. - The beach was ideal for snorkelling. - The bar staff were very friendly. - Moved to a better room for last 3 days of holiday having requested a move every day. Negatives - Our superior sea view room was far from superior and had a very disappointing partial sea view spoiled by a huge wall extending a significant distance out past the end of our balcony. - The double bed consisted of two single beds pushed together and made up as single beds. - The curtains had no black out which meant the light streamed into the room from dawn, which was not conducive to sleep. - The bathroom was very tired and the bath leaked even when using the shower with a river of water covering the floor each day. Cigarette smoke from the offices above entered the bathroom from two vents each morning, which was most unpleasant for us as non smokers, as the smell filled the bedroom when the door was opened. The only toiletry provided was thin liquid soap via push containers fixed to the wall. - The air conditioner broke down and we were without cool air for 4 days, which was most uncomfortable at night and meant we couldnt sleep. The attitude of the hotel staff was extremely unhelpful when we complained as they believed we should be able to sleep through the loud rattling sound the machine made and they refused to acknowledge that it wasnt producing cool air. They only took action and ordered the part when the rep videoed the machine as proof of the horrendous noise it was making. - Pork was available every night in its many and varied forms. Chicken was available some of the time and mainly on the bone. The way it was sometimes presented e.g. deep fried in cereal or plain batter, it was not appealing to eat. Beef was extremely rare. Beefburgers were available in the grill restaurant but visits were restricted to three, bookable 24 hours in advance. The food was very samey in the main canteen style restaurant. The juice was not fresh and clean glasses ran out regularly. - Alchoholic drinks were very weak. All in all a stressful, disappointing holiday which is one to forget and certainly wont be repeated!

The music in the pool area is clearly too LOUD - People have to yell to each other to communicate. Turn it down please! The animation team also turns it on way too loud everytime they have something scheduled in the pool. It is very disturbing and not relaxing at all!

    • Comfortable with nice features but NOT a 5*

Stayed for a week in August 2019, after some days travelling other islands. Wanted a completely chilled out, carefree 5* stay, as youd expect from a 5* hotel. There are lots of good features: - good sized rooms with bath - good sized balancing (although see comment below on garden view) - sandy beach that gives some nice snorkelling opportunities - ala carte restaurants to give a different dining experiences - good sea views from the third floor bar Disappointing features (and not what youd expect from a 5*) - canteen style dining room for most meals with no opportunities for outside dining (if the main restaurant was more similar to the ala carte choices, it would be vastly improved) - crammed in tables, very busy and noisy; canteen style self-service stations - poor non-alcoholic cocktails/ mocktail choices (pregnant guest wouldve liked more luxury) - juices werent fresh- pasteurised/ proceeded, overly sweet mixtures - garden view rooms are facing a wall, cut out of the hillside with some floral coverage-definitely not what youd expect from the description garden view. Didnt make you want to sit out in balcony so although a good size, didnt make use of balcony. Front of hotel offers sea views but cost is a lot more per night. - poor WiFi - double room was two single beds pushed together, not even connected that moved apart as the night went on- not even dressed in larger sheets- single sheets for bedding and pushed together. Other features to note, although not to comment on star rating. Hotel is quite a distance from nearest town, Agios Nickolas- over an hour to walk (didnt try it so cant comment on condition of paths), 10 taxi each way or bus journey for the daytime or early evening- just worth noting for those that like to have a change of scenery at times. Although this makes it very quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle, it does make you quite out of the way if you like the option of the two.
