    • Check for Palio Dates before Arriving to Siena.

We arrived Siena and had no idea that it was day of the Palio. Casacenti is located in the center so know that taxi cabs are not allowed there. We took the bus and walked to location. Stefano was our main contact and we called him when we arrived. He came within 5 min. and carried my backpack up a few flights of stairs and it was highly appreciated. Thank you, Stefano! He then informed us that an extra Palio was going on and checked us into the Bed & Breakfast. However, we will not be served breakfast and gave us vouchers to get one (1) cup of coffee and one (1) croissant at a local bakery for the next morning. I was not happy about it as this place was selected because it's a "Bed and Breakfast", but at that point, there was nothing that they can do. The room itself and bathroom was clean and spacious. The view of the Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico was breathtaking, day or night. The mattress that we slept on was dated as we felt the springs on our backs and didn't really rest well. During the day, everything was closed!! The Pubblico Palace, Piazza del Campo, Tower of Mangia. Restaurants, cafe's, streets were all packed with locals for the race. I felt claustrophobic. Had I known, I would have skipped town. My only gripe is that I should've been informed about the event so I can decide whether I should still travel to Siena. I didn't receive any communications from Casacenti about this sudden Palio that was being held so we were quite disappointed. We were only there for 1 day. Plus not having the actual breakfast that I see everyone is talking about makes it even more upsetting. Sometimes these small details make a big difference in people's planning and it left a big disappointment in ours.

We stayed here for two nights as we traveled through Tuscany and this B&B was one of our favorites! Piero was such an amazing and warm host - he helped us find the best parking and was very informative. The whole experience felt so authentic and comfortable. We had the pink room and the view of Basilica Cateriniana di San Domenico was to die for! The location is perfect - close to a set of escalators from the bottom of the hill and about a minute walk to the cathedral/baptistery/museum, and a 5 minute walk to the town center. We just adored this place and hope to be back someday!

    • Centrally located, spacious, and spotless B&B in Siena - highly recommended!

This B&B is centrally located within the old town and just a few steps away from the Duomo and the main square, Piazza del Campo. The rooms are extra spacious, and the double room we stayed in offered a great view of Basilica Cateriniana San Domenico. The bedroom and bathroom are spotlessly clean and looks newly renovated; there are also amenities such as a TV, minibar, and free Wi-Fi. There is a shared kitchen in the B&B where daily breakfast of bread, pastries, cereal, and coffee is served; it is also equipped with complete kitchen facilities that can be used by guests anytime. Our host, Piero, was very accommodating. He helped us with our luggage, served breakfast each morning, and arranged for our taxi going to the train station. We would definitely recommend Casacenti as a place to stay in Siena!

My Mum and I were on holiday in Italy for the month of May and stayed at Casacenti for four nights. We booked the pink room which was charming with lots of wood detail and a lovely view to St Antonio Church. The location couldn't be better, quiet and just a two minute walk to the Duomo and central to all Siena has to offer. Both Stafano and Pietro were very helpful with any questions we had, booking cabs and recommending local places to eat. Would highly recommend! Jenelle and Robyn

CasaCenti has superb location near to Duomo. We stayed in the Green Room facing St Antonio Church (worth the effort to climb up to there for best picture of Duomo!). Quite a view from our window and also those in the well-equipped communal kitchen. Our room and toilet area was spacious. The timber-rich and inclined ceiling gave out warm Tuscany vibes. If we come back to Siena, we will stay at CacaCenti.
