    • Modern Upscale Hotel in a Classic Package

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early May, 19. We wanted a comfortable place that had a good location for exploring Ronda and also nearby hill towns. The Catelonia Ronda was a very good choice and we recommend it highly. It is located directly across the street from the historic bull ring and museum. In fact, we used the ring as the destination in our car gps and that worked fine. Parking is 15 euro extra and is down the street in a parking garage, about a 5-10 minute walk, Short-term parking is available in the bull ring lot, and this is what we used when checking in so we had only a short distance to walk with our luggage. The Catelonia Ronda is well-located in Ronda. Besides being right across the street from the bull ring (with a birds-eye view from the hotels rooftop terrace and pool), it is at the end of the main pedestrian street which intersects the bull ring street. The pedestrian street has many good restaurants and shops. The hotel is a short walk to the iconic bridge, and a 10-15 minute walk to the far end of the old town area. The hotel is housed in an old bank and has an elegant, classical look from the outside. Inside it is modern and stylish, having just recently been totally redone as a hotel. The lobby is somewhat narrow but has a soaring ceiling and is very pleasant. The front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming, as was everyone working in the hotel. Our room (#217) was reached by an elevator and a circuitous route (probably due to the fact that the hotel occupied more of the overall building that the bank itself. Our room was on the interior of the hotel with windows looking into a large open area or shaft and other rooms on the other sides. Although this sounds grim, the view was actually very pleasant because the walls of the open shaft had been cleverly painted with flowers and greenery to make it look quite cute. Still, the lack of direct sunlight made the room a bit dark. The room itself was very large and attractively decorated in an upscale, modern style. The layout and furnishing of the space was obviously well thought-out, with good lighting and convenient electrical outlets, including one by each night stand, and adequate storage space for 1-2 suitcases on a low bench along one wall. The king bed was very comfortable, and there was a credenza/desk, and a small sofa at the foot of the bed. The room had a hot water kettle for making tea, but oddly there wasnt any coffee available. There was a large built-in closet with a safe. Wifi in the room was strong and fast, and the ac was extremely quiet and very effective. The bathroom was large and attractive, with interesting ceramic tile floor to ceiling. The room was divided into three areas separated by frosted glass doors. The vanity area was in the center, with plenty of counterspace for storage. Off to one side was a spacious shower, and to the other side was a toilet and bidet. The hotel offered breakfast (21 euro pp) but we didnt try it. There are several bars nearby which have good value breakfasts, but we had trouble finding a convenience store or bakery close to the hotel. All in all, the Hotel Catelonia Ronda is well-managed, attractive and friendly choice for staying a few nights in Ronda and we wouldnt hesitate to book here again.

A beautiful choice for a stay in lovely Ronda. We had a corner room with stunning views but I'm sure all rooms are great. The staff were absolutely wonderful; attentive, professional and they made sure our entire stay was just perfect. The rooms, facilities, pool, spa and bar area were all beautiful. Excellent value for money and everything about this hotel made our stay in Ronda perfect.

Beautiful and modern rooms, very nice decor, fiendly service, very good breakfast, great view at the rooftop restaurant and bar. The food in the restaurant is a bit overpriced though. It is better to eat elsewhere (check the Tripadvisor) and then to spend some time at the roof just to have some drinks and fun.
