    • Better at night

During the day the visit is a bit disappointing. The frogs are in glass containers. They are hidden and the glass is very dirty so it is difficult to see something. However, the entry includes a night pass and at night we liked it much more. We saw all the frogs and we even saw a tarantula climbing down the walls. They should try to clean the glasses though.

Nice for children when the rain pours down. Kids get a light torch to locate frogs. Get very enthousiastic when they find one. With the same ticket you can revisit between 6.00 and 08.30 pm, when frogs are active. We finally saw the fsmous red-eye leaf frog.

    • Expensive for what it offers

Visited last week. Entrance is 17 USD for adults and USD15 for children, making it an expensive trip for a family of 4 despite the reduced family rate (58usd) and the offer of free re-entry. The "frog pond" is a small pond with no frogs. The frogs are housed in a vivarium. Several of the vivariums were broken. I would personally give it 1 star for the money, but the tour guide (Dennis) was brilliant and rescued what could have otherwise been a bleak experience. If you like frogs (a lot) and live in the UK, better to go to the University of Manchester's Vivarium, which houses more species of Costa Rican frog than this does... and is free.

Our guide Davey was awesome and knowledgeable. He showed us so many frogs that we would not have found on our own. We did the self guided tour during the day and saw just a few frogs but night tour was so much better.

We loved the frog tour. The guide (David) was great. He helped us find frogs that we never wouldve seen without him. Additionally, we went through the butterfly garden. It was amazing. Loaded with beautiful butterflies. Highly recommend both.
