This place is amazing. Right in front of the old Ankara citadel and close to all major museums, the building is an old Ottoman caravanserai from the XVI or XVII century. If you like the stories from the Silk Road, this is your hotel! Also the rooms are big and comfy, very well decorated, and the bathroom was huge.

Divan is at the heart of Ankara. One might think it might not be the safest area but thats certainly not the case. Divan has an impressive view of Ankara, I have enjoyed it a lot. Divan has an amazing decoration. It has a small library and a bar. The rooms are big and again decorated with Anatolian motives. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Each dish was prepared amazingly and you can easily taste the quality ingredients.

The hotel is located near the Ankara Castle and Museum of Anatolian. Both are in a short walking distance. As an extra benefit the hotel quests also get free entry to the museum of M. Coach next door. The museum has great collections including, well, to many things to list here, and certainly is worth your time. The hotel has a great lobby, Library, well decorated inside balcony, nice restaurant. Our room is well decorated with ancient Chinese antique furniture, paintings and Lamps, which are even rarely be found even in China now.

    • The Most Beautiful Hotel In Ankara!!

We spent one night at this hotel on our way from Istanbul to Goreme. I had been searching for a romantic, beautiful place to stay through several booking sites and this was honestly the best place. Though a little unassuming from the outside - it's absolutely gorgeous on the inside. A little hard to get to with our rental car as you have to go up a winding narrow road up a hillside to get to it - but once you're there - the views all around it are just amazing! The staff met us at the front and parked our car for us and took our bags inside. Strangely, there is a metal detector to walk through and the doormen all look like VIP bodyguards. Check-in was an easy process and we were taken up one floor to our room, which was the one bedroom Royal Suite. What an amazing room!! Huge with a nice big sitting room, two bathrooms and a big comfy bed. There was free water and a Nespresso machine, but oddly no mini-bar at all, which is a shame if you have items that you would like to refrigerate. It's been a very long time since I've stayed in a room without any kind of mini-fridge! We decided to venture outside after we freshened up and found ourselves directly outside the Citadel, which is an impressive old fort with great views of Ankara! The hotel is surrounded by great cafes and restaurants as well as carpet and souvenir shops without any of the high pressure salesmen like in Istanbul. Our room included the breakfast buffet and although we were hoping to eat in the interior courtyard, we were instead shuffled off to a restaurant that was a very stark contrast to the subdued quiet of the courtyard. The restaurant was very bright and modern and it was a set service instead of a buffet. The waiters asked us how we'd like our eggs and then brought out dishes of cheese, jam etc. It was a very nice meal but the staff then disappeared and it was difficult to find them to ask for tea or juice. There was no cooked meat served at all though I'd seen pictures of bacon etc from other tourists on the website. We finally gave up and left the restaurant still hungry and thirsty. What a shame that this was such a disappointing way to end what had been such a beautiful stay. They definitely have to step up their game with breakfast and improve the service there - it really should be served in the courtyard all the time - and the waiters have to be available at all times! Overall, I do recommend this hotel for the great location, wondrous appointments and terrific rooms!
