We had a nite's stay here, and it was a great location in the center of town. Very clean and largish rooms. Great hotel for the price. walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this boutique hotel. Also served a decent buffet b/fast which was included.

    • Very Comfortable Stay @ Edelmira Hotel in Guanajuato Mexico

My wife & I decided to spend a night in Guanajuato Mexico for my Birthday. We also happened to have a friend visiting from NYC, and this would be his last night in Mexico before departing the next morning from Leon (BJX). We chose the Edelmira Hotel because of it's central location in the city. It's located right off the Jardin, and just down the street from the Teatro Juarez. We chose room's #21 & 22, based on Trip advisor's "room tips page" and were very happy with the rooms! #21 is a little bigger w/king size bed, but both have balconies that look down on Allende street. We were visiting on a Tuesday, so the nightlife scene is probably a little tamer than over the weekend. The noise level might be a distraction for some, but the hotel has either storm windows, or double pained glass on the French style doors, so when you close them the outside world's noise level is reduced to pretty much zero. If you're arriving by car, just know that in that part of the city, it's very difficult to park. If you park in a paid garage (the most likely scenario), you'll be walking a bit to get to the hotel. Just prepare accordingly. Guanajuato is a very populated city, and I can still get turned around even though I've visited there many, many times. I have a good sense of direction except in Guanajuato! You'll also be driving in their famous tunnels below the city, and that's where most of the paid parking garages are located. Just think of it as another adventure. It's truly worth the effort.

Yes, it was a little pricey but that got forgotten quickly. I got sick the day I was flying back home. The hotel let me stay three extra hours in the room without extra charge after time to check out so I could rest and get better. They also recommended a doctor who came and gave me antibiotics right away. Highly appreciated!!!

Yes the hotel provided basic accommodation and is well located but it is way overpriced. Lacking character and charm, this does not qualify as a boutique hotel. Room was very small and had about as much character as a holiday inn. For over 200usd a night we expected much more. There are way better options in Guanajuato, dont waste your money on this place.

Edelmira hotel is a lovely property with terrific staff. Rooms are clean and well appointed. We enjoyed a room tucked up in the back of the property away from street noise and very private. Reasonably priced centrally located just steps from the square with several great food options. Dont miss the taco place right next door, perfect stop after a long day of sightseeing...fresh tacos, light and delicious. We loved our few days in Guanajuato, its a beautiful clean city with a European flare.
