      Titanium member and pleased to find this hotel at only 12,500 points. No need to spend the 20,000 points at the attached Westin. The GM upgraded us to a great suite and we had a great time. Location next to the outdoor mall was perfect and the staff was friendly. Central location to the Space Museum and Botanical Gardens. Outdoor pool was nice and had music and drink service. Overall, much nicer than other Elements we have visited and would definitely come back.

      A large group of swimmers and their families stayed at the Element this past weekend. We were in town for the USA Southeastern Swim Championship Meet, and I would estimate there were somewhere between 50 and 100 families from all different teams staying at the hotel to attend this event. A large part of why we booked this hotel was because they advertised a full breakfast included in the room rate, and obviously athletes need to eat before they compete. Upon checking in on Thursday, we were told breakfast was not served until 7 on the weekends. As there was such a large group of guests who needed to be at the pool by 7:30 or earlier, we asked if it would be possible to have some basic continental breakfast items set out about 30 minutes earlier than usual time. We were not the only team to request this, and in the past this request has been happily accommodated for much smaller groups at other hotels in the area. Different families were told different things about whether or not the hotel would meet this request, but I personally was told on Thursday that a manager would contact me to let me know. I never heard from a manager, but on Saturday morning when we came downstairs at around 6:45, there were around 15-20 families waiting to eat. All of the continental breakfast items were set out, but the staff was loudly complaining about our presence, and they refused to set out any forks or spoons, or turn on the lights so people could eat until after 7am. I asked to speak to a manager again later that afternoon to get some clarity on what the hotel had decided, and to let him know about the generally unfriendly treatment of the staff serving breakfast to a large number of their guests. He took down my name and number, and had someone from food services call me later that night to tell me they could not move the breakfast time up the following day because it was too short notice. This seemed like an odd excuse as we had requested this on Thursday, and another family had asked for it a month in advance. On Sunday morning the service was even worse than it had been Saturday. Once again the staff refused to set out any utensils, this time until around 7:15, and the coffee dispenser was empty the entire time we were there. By the time we left at 7:25, they still had not even begun to serve the cooked portion of the breakfast. Its one thing to refuse to move up the breakfast time to accommodate your guests, but at minimum shouldnt you at least have everything ready to go at the time you stated it would be ready? The staff seemed to be making a pretty clear statement about their feelings about our presence in the hotel. 30 minutes and a few forks and spoons seemed to be a strange hill for a staff to die on, especially when you were in the business of customer service. We will be taking our business elsewhere in the future and will encourage the other teams in our organization to do the same.

      We book a one bedroom suite for 4 people, adults and 2 children for 7 days. Upon arrival there was no sowher gel on the dispenser unit an almost not shampoo either. The sofa bed for the child was not ready and several plugs of the room were nor operating. During the stay there was to much noise from other rooms and floors because of the flooring selected (ceramics all over the room). The cleaning service is absolutely dissapointing. There was dust accumulated since we arrive that was not cleaned during the whle stay. I had to ask for a mope to the cleaning by myself (which was delivered promptly) Choose an alternative, for sure will have a better stay

      The hotel overall was great and the room was very spacious and accommodating. However, the customer service from the staff was to be desired. Our check-in time was 3pm, but were told our room was not ready and they didn't know when it would be. The first staff member seemed indifferent. By the time we got to the manager, she assured us they were working on it and awarded me points for a night stay. I'm glad she stepped in to save the day!

      I stayed 3 nights in June 2019. Element is in same building as Westin. They share an exercise room, pools, etc. The location is excellent. You can walk from the hotel to movie theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shopping (outside Bridge Street Mall). Parking is easy, although often crowded, so I would not bother with valet. In and out trips are never a problem. Front desk help was friendly enough. For those that find it important that your Marriot status is acknowledged- it never was. That does not bother me though. I never tried to use perks like late check out, etc...I assume it would have worked. The Element buffet at breakfast was decent, especially for those that want something different. There is a yogurt bar with toppings. Whole wheat pancakes. The eggs were Frittata and the bacon was turkey bacon every one of the three days. I did yearn for some scrambled eggs and pork bacon. Dining space is very limited inside, but there are some additional tables outside. The hallways leading to the room were drab and the carpet did not impress me. However, the rooms themselves were very nice. Bathroom did not have a fan, which I enjoy, but the shower was nice and large and everything worked well. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows were awesome. Could not have asked for more. There was a fridge, microwave, toaster, some dishes, sink, etc. There was a safe in the room. Everything was functional, no complaints. The AC worked well. The lobby is very crowded and small, so a few people checking in and out made it very congested in loud. But I did not hear any noise in my room-- so I was happy about that. Because it is less expensive than the Westin, but shares amenities, I would recommend it. Also, the location is top notch.
