We have been to Capri several times and on our last trip in 2017 found the Punta Tragara, what a spectacular property with an exceptional level of service at every level. We just visited again in August 2019 and it has gotten even better! Management should be proud of the staff and their attention to detail for the customer. It has now become our favorite hotel in the world....they think of everything and you drop into a level of relaxation immediately. The location is idea. As it gets you out of the crazy crowds in town and views, gin drinks and food are spectacular. We will definitely visit again, and again and again!

We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is 5*(L) so is obviously of a very high standard, very similar to many that we have stayed a previously as a small family (3 of us). Therefore it is fair to say that we found it to be of a very high standard as was expected and certainly paid for. I am not going to bang on about all the bad things about this hotel as whilst there were some there were very few. However there is one thing which I have struggled to come to terms with. My wife and I were travelling with our 9 year old son (in fact it was his 9th birthday on the day of the issue) and my son and I decided to take a dip in one of the very small pools at about 2pm. We decided on the heated pool which is situated in the bar area as the unheated pool is far too deep for a 9 yo child and the whole outside space is indeed very cramped. After about 2 mins I was approached in the pool and asked by a member of staff of the American Bar aka the pool area to tell my 9 yo son to keep his noise down. I have to say that I was quite taken a back at first as we had not been making much noise and it is the first time that I/we have ever been asked to do so! He mentioned that there were people in the pool area who were sleeping and he didnt want them awakened? At 2pm?? Really?? I subsequently explained that it was poor policy of the hotel to allow children to stay at the hotel in the first place if they were not allowed to make any use of the pool area. I suggested that it should be an adult only venue if that were the case. He agreed. It transpires that the owner was at the pool area (sorry - The American Bar?) at that time and he wanted no noise whilst he was there with a couple of associates. Thats fine I suppose as he supposedly owned it but ultimately were paying for it BUT we shall not be paying for it again. Have to say that the Reception staff and Concierge were amazing throughout.

This is my first trip advisor review and I felt compelled to do so after staying at punta tragara. We have been to many 5 star hotels and this definitely met our expectations. The service is incredible. They anticipate every need. The turn down service was a pure delight. Details is the key word for this establishment. Thank you for making Capri an absolute joy for us. We will Be back soon!

All my reviews are contextual, therefore when reviewing a 5* hotel the rating is against similar properties around the world. We stayed for 7 nights in July 2019. The room. Superior sea/pool view, small but well positioned, with plenty of privacy and a nice terrace. Fantastic view over the Marina Piccolo Bay Area, if your interested in yachts there are plenty of mega and super yachts to spot with regular helicopter arrivals/departures. The room was clean, with a good size bathroom and shower. The only thing missing was tea/coffee making facilities, which is a given in almost all hotels across the world and should be included here. The staff: All wonderful, friendly and chatty (if you choose to engage). We never wanted for anything and at no point did we feel pressured or fawned over. The bar and waiting staff at Monzu and the pool bar were particularly good. Thanks to Dani, Lorenzo and the whole team, shining examples of efficient and friendly service. In particular the cocktails and G&Ts, after a couple of days they know you well enough to create drinks or mixes for you, all of them delicious. The food: Breakfast is a self service buffet with all the standard hot and cold elements you would expect and was good. There is also a shirt order menu with various eggs and pancakes etc, the avocado and poached eggs with sunflower seeds were a favourite. We are at the pool/bar restaurant for both lunch and dinner a few times. The lunches are delicious, well portioned and varied. Favourites include the ever wonderful Spaghetti Vongole and the seared octopus, equally all of the salad options are filling, healthy and tasty. The dinner: fantastic, Monzu is Chasing a Michelin star, and if it doesnt receive one very soon I would be shocked, the service and wine lists were excellent and the food was, in our opinion the best we had in the island, after trying other Michelin starred restaurants including Il Rocio and Mamma. Chef Luigi can cook for us any time, any meal, anywhere. The bar: awesome selection of drinks and wonderful staff, we cannot thank them enough and Im aware this is the 2nd time in this review alone. They made our stay very enjoyable. The prices: it isnt cheap, in fact it is overpriced. But not because it is fantastic, but because Capri is small, demand is extremely high and even cheap options on the island are costly. Think Swiss prices! Overall our stay was very enjoyable, the hotel is highly recommended and we would definitely stay again, without question. Thank you all at Punta Tragara for a great stay. *Apologies for any typos, all reviews written on a phone.

My first visit to Capri has been made even better by staying at Punta Tragara. The views are amazing (worth the 10 min walk from the main square). The staff are extremely helpful, assisting us with dinner reservations, our next hotel in Positano as well as ferry tickets. We stayed in room 95, the suite was gorgeous and so peaceful overlooking the pool and views of south Capri. We will definitely return!
