    • Amazing Wedding Reception at the Axidie

      5.0
      Reviewed 26 August 2019

Having looked around many Wedding Reception venues, the Axidie stood out to us straight away where we could envision our beautiful day. Ester was amazing! She was always available to meet with us to put our mind at rest throughout the whole planning process! Chef was brilliant! although we only had a small Wedding party of around 30 people, there were quite a few dietary requirements and Chef and his Team were brilliant to ensure all requirements were met and everyone commented how wonderful the food was. Giancarlo and his Team were amazing ensuring that all guests received a first class service for the entire event, along with beautiful presentation of all sections of the wedding from the appertisiers to the really yummy rum and chocolates table after the dinner. Thank you so much to everyone infront and behind the scenes at the Resort Le Axidie for such a wonderful and memorable Wedding Reception, and for truly making our day so special. You will always be in our hearts. Grazie mille di cuore

    • A good hotel

A very nice hotel, (far away from everything that means Amalfi Coast) the rooms were cleaned every day. Also far away from the town but it has a free shuttle that takes you to there or to the train station every half an hour. From the train station you can take the train to Sorrento or to Naples. The beach is rocky but the hotel gives you for free beds, umbrella and towels.

    • Family break

Overall a very good family hotel and reasonable base for touring the area. Learning that the Wellness center was adult only and also a surcharge was a disappointment as noted by others. Although the complex is chaotic with local families, including kids at the day camp hosted on-site, it's better in the evenings. The cottage was dated and lacking some kitchen tools but worked out fine.

    • Joke of a resort

I would use the term resort loosely when describing this place. We were travelling with our 18 month old daughter and looking for a resort near Sorrento that had a good pool area for us to spend most days relaxing and swimming. The pool area as shown in photos is actually the wellness centre which attracts an additional cost of 15 Euro per person per day, it is also adult only (except for one day per week). The pool that we could use has no shallow end, I couldnt stand at all in the pool and so couldnt go in with my daughter and as she cant swim, only my husband who is 6foot and could just stand on his tip toes. The private beach and pool area that we could use are part of a beach club and open to the public at a cost. So on the weekends the beach and pool areas are hectic with people coming for the day. Part of the beach and the spots for sun loungers close to the pool are reserved for subscribers and so we were told that as hotel guests were now allowed to use them and had to go to the furthest point away from the pool/beach. We booked an apartment, which was a 5 min walk up and down stairs from the main hotel, which with an 18 month old in hot temperatures was not enjoyable. The apartment was also old and in poor condition. We paid for a sea view room however when sitting on the patio we could not see the sea at all. The apartment we were given was not as pictured online I requested to be moved to the main hotel and the room there was much nicer and easily accessible. I would absolutely not recommend this resort if you are looking for a relaxing resort holiday, we were very disappointed as the reason we booked the hotel was because of the photos of the pool area which was then not available to us.

    • Picturesque Setting on the Bay of Naples

We were a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and stayed in the Apartments located away from the main hotel, 5-10 min walk. Apartment was an old converted house with a fantastic bedroom & en suite upstairs and living/kitchen downstairs. View from bedroom window was fantastic overlooking the bay & Mt Vesuvius. Downstairs was dark and had a sofa bed which converted to comfortable 2 single beds. The complex has a wellness centre for adults (an extra cost), a sea-water swimming pool and a private beach. You can walk from the apartment out on to a small veranda where you can sit and watch the spectacular sunset over the Bay of Naples. There are a number of restaurants in the Marina from cheap & cheerful to more expensive. Beware there are no shops in the Marina and Vico Equense is a short drive away or a walk up many steps.Supermarkets are quite limited. The hotel has its own restaurants but we didn't eat there and they seemed quiet which we thought was surprising for July. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and it is an excellent location to see the Amalfi coast but would highly recommend a car, even with the chaotic driving on very windy roads.
