    • Not 4 star

      Reviewed 27 August 2019

Lovely view in the photo and on the website. My wife and I went on a Leger Luxuria coach holiday expecting 4 star treatment with a view as shown. What we got was a substandard room overlooking a busy main road with traffic going by at all hours. We could not go onto the balcony because of the noise and fumes. In the restaurant we were not allowed to eat on the terrace and we had very little choice of menu and the food was awfull. We paid a lot of money for the trip and spent a lot more in the bar. In fact we didn't get 4 star treatment only 2 stars and that's pushing it. We were treated like 2nd class citizens. Leger holidays will also be getting a bad review.

    • Great hospitality and location

We stayed here from August 8th to 15th and had an amazing time! The view from the balcony where the restaurant is is amazing. The waiters and bar staff were always pleasant and happy to help. The room was cleaned perfectly every day. Vico Equense is a lovely place to stay with lots of lovely restaurants. We much preferred staying out of Sorrento and away from the busy Amalfi Coast hotspots. The pool is very nice and the views out are great! Only downside if we had to pick one is that the food and drinks in the evenings served at the restaurant is a bit of expensive. Other than that, perfect stay!

    • Not a 4* by any stretch of the imagination

      Reviewed 14 August 2019

Having stayed at a beautifully run 4* hotel in Ischia, I was expecting more of the same at the alleged 4* Hotel Mary. When we arrived we were picked up by shuttle from the train station which was a 15 min. walk or a 3 min. drive. We were charged 10 for this service and informed that this was the flat price for 2 people. The sea was quite a way downhill with sun beds on the rocks. The hotel charged 2 per trip each way. We were shown to a loud dark and very small room which was infested with ants. The room was sprayed with ant killer, but the ants returned straight away. I became extremely upset and informed staff that I could not stay in the room. We were upgraded to a larger room on ground level which was much nicer and appreciated. However from this point forward the staff were very unhelpful and seemed annoyed with us. The shuttle was never available when we needed it, the restaurant staff huffed and puffed at us and were very unfriendly when we spoke to them. The breakfast was basic with very little choice. Dinner was better but extremely expensive. This is very much a 3* at best and needs to be rectified. The walls are paper thin and everything can be heard from each room. The TV from the next room was loud and kept us awake until very late. The only thing I enjoyed was the pool with a view. This is a long way from the airport which we were quoted at 90. A bus runs to the airport at 10 but beware you have to pick it up in the square and the hotel said the taxi with bags to the square is 25.

    • A lovely little hotel

      Reviewed 13 August 2019

After reading some reviews on this hotel was worried, but for no reason, the hotel is having an update, so when we visited earlier this month we were delighted to find the swimming pool is now an infinity pool, with a lovely terrace, with an absolutely wonderful view over the bay of Naples. The food was to a good standard, we were on a Leger coach holiday and the food was not to a real lower standard as people have said about, thee were plenty of choices, from Pizza to Veal to Chicken to Fish to Bolognese, the starters were good, and the desserts. The bedrooms are a bit old fashioned, but these are in the 4 year refurb plan, along with other things, all areas were kept nice and clean, if I had one thing to change it would be to put the showers on a riser rail, as the shower head is rather high, especially if you are trying to keep your hair dry.

    • Lovely hotel

Fantastic hotel in a lovely position, not quite as touristy as some places which was nice. Food was lovely, rooms a little basic but perfectly good, seaview a definite must! good position for the trainline to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and Sorrento. Only comment would be don't have a room immediately under the restaurant as it is noisy - other than that perfect!
