    • Awful room but good food!

      Reviewed 24 August 2019

Just returned from a week at the Pandora, probably wouldn't stay again. Our room was 113 on bottom level down a lot of steps, looked as if it needs a return, some wallpaper coming unstuck and no view just a smallish window looking at a building. We asked for an early morning call as we were getting picked up for an early flight but no call came just lucky we made it, no one around at 5.30 am had to fumble around to find a light switch and unlock the main door. The photos don't look like the room we had and we certainly had no beautiful views but we will be making the hotel aware. Guernsey and its people are lovely though!

    • Great hotel for short stay

Lovely hotel - good cooked breakfast, nice bar which also served food with a terrace overlooking pretty garden. Free on-site parking available for my hire car. Only slight negative: my single room (307) was very small, which is often the case, with a tiny en suite bathroom, but I did see into 2 other much bigger single rooms - 309, & 303 even faced the sea. Hotel is situated up quite a steep hill, but it is only 10/15 mins walk from town centre.

    • Great staff but uncomfortable rooms.

      Reviewed 18 August 2019

The bed was uncomfortable because it was old and worn out. It creaked whenever I moved slightly and it sagged in the middle. By the end of the week I had backache! The window looked out onto a collection of outbuildings where the workers played loud music and smoked in the yard. Noise from room to room and from the corridors was loud enough to wake me during the night and early in the morning. I don't know where the rooms with sea views were located because there was no view from the back or the front. The food was good and very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely. The rooms just need to be dragged into the 21st century.

    • Helpful staff

      Reviewed 18 August 2019

The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much for them. I have a food intolerance and the staff in the restaurant went out of their way to provide me with excellent meals. We had a room on the third floor from which we could see across the bay so it was well worth the climb up the stairs. The walk from St Peters Port is uphill so this can be challenge.

We stayed at the Pandora Hotel for one week. The food was excellent, a different menu every night. Friendly and welcoming staff, immaculately clean everywhere. Our room overlooked the very pretty garden - you must explore! the bottom of the garden is a gem with views overlooking the sea. There chairs and tables to sit on and bench seats dotted about. I felt right at home here and we would definitely stay here again. We met someone who was staying for three weeks! A nice bar and a large lounge to relax in, including a piano should you wish to tickle the ivories. There is also a large table if you need to use the Internet, play cards on etc., We had a twin room overlooking the patio. It was adequate with plenty of wardrobe space and several hangers. Several draws for all your belongings. We were able to store our suitcase on top of the wardrobe. All in all ten out of ten!
