    • High quality motel

My family and I stayed at Perla for 2 nights on our arrival in Croatia. We had found that the villa we wanted to rent was unavailable for our first 2 days hence our stay here I had looked for somewhere not too far from Split airport and in a slightly different location to our villa. Perla looked nice from the photos and description The resort (an overstatement) is made up of a small hotel and an apartment block. The facilities are a little limited in the hotel as there is only a reception area and a dining area on the ground floor. It is however situated on a small gravel beach and has lovely views across a bay. There are 2 small outdoor pools and a further restaurant and snack bar. The standard of the bedrooms is good. Reasonably spacious with decent bathrooms. And again gorgeous views over the bay as long as you are at the right side of the hotel. Some basic amenities are lacking, such as tea and coffee making facilities. There are no toiletries in the bathrooms other than gel dispensers. The staff were pretty good throughout although some had only limited English as they apparently do not get huge numbers of UK tourists Overall our stay was very enjoyable and I would certainly return if in the area again. However it has to be said that the hotel is more suited to a short stay than a more lengthy holiday. It is a quite upmarket motel

    • Nice resort, but too far from split city

We have rode 1hr to reach this hotel. Room was spacious, and view to the sea was acceptable. I think it will be a good place for someone that wanted a relaxed stay. But unfortunately, we only stayed for 8hrs, and we will be rushing to catch a ferry ride to an island.

    • Poor service, poor sea, significantly overpriced.

The beach. The beach zone is roughly divided into three sections. The main one, 90 percent of it, in a straight line down in the middle. It looks onto the roadway opposite. Sunshades are positioned on it in such a cunning way that their shade falls pretty much everywhere but on the deckchairs. Its impossible to catch any of it. To the right (facing the hotel building) there are two or three deckchairs with sunshades places where you can catch some shade, but theres no view there the view of the open sea is blocked by the hotel-owners yacht, and further to the right by some sort of rubbish dump, I kid you not. To the left (facing the hotel building) there are another two or three deckchairs with sunshades, which can be positioned to get some shade. We and the kids liked this place, even though a new building was under construction next to it and behind it was that road, which people have different opinions about in their reviews of the hotel some think that its intrusive, others disagree. In my honest opinion, even in this more or less acceptable place on the beach it does indeed intrude. Whats more, this area seems to be the owners comfort zone. They seem to live in a villa there, they have a private restaurant on the beach there, they can park a car there, and they do not seem to be expecting any guests there even guests at their own resort. Also, we all always need to bear in mind that there are no private beaches in Croatia. Its a ruse. So anyone can go there, at any time, off the street. The sea. Theres no sea there of any kind. If its some crystal-clear, beautiful Croatian sea that youre after dont go there. Its right at the end of a cove, a stagnant place, the bed is overgrown with seaweed, its comparatively shallow. More like a pond. The shore is covered in small white pebbles (in photos taken from afar it looks pretty), but in many spots its merrily sprouting greenery. Theres no smell of the sea. Not at all! Instead, from time to time theres a strong whiff of seaweed. Its not much fun swimming. Especially if youve got something to compare it with. We got an impression that there were very few hotel guests on the beach. Seemed like that there were more local residents, than guests. The grounds. The grounds are not guarded. If you bring any big gear for sea sports with you, youll have to cram it into your room overnight. And no one cares if the room turns out to be smaller than that gear. The playground is next to a building site. On the very first day, while our youngest daughter was clambering around it, I saw a construction worker come out and relieve himself against the wall of the new building. And theres a lot of broken glass and all kinds of debris there. The on-site shop was closed. The apartments. A living room and two separate bedrooms. The windows of one of them overlooked the sea, and of the other the carpark and an internal corridor, where at night everyone loved sharing their impressions of the day. In short, it was noisy for kids, who slept in that room. Everything looked new, but there was a strong smell of sewage coming from the toilet. Sometimes there was a strong smell from outside. The building itself was dilapidated and rickety. The staff. At reception everyone was great! It was a pleasure chatting with them! The waiters I dont know where they found them all. They hadnt been trained to do anything. Not even to smile. For some reason, whenever we came across the chambermaids theyd ask whether our rooms needed to be cleaned. Strange. This is a resort, after all. Cleaning should be quick, invisible, and with no questions. The restaurant and bar. The breakfasts were ordinary and adequate, if youre not looking for anything special. Over the five days of our stay the menu barely changed. But on the last day before our departure something happened, some of the plates on the tables had little signs next to them saying what was on them. We especially liked the sign next to the basket of toast Toast. Just in case anyone didnt realise that! Perhaps they were expecting a visit from some commission for resort breakfasts. Theres no draft beer. They said thered be some next year. But we saw that there was some in the owners private restaurant at the beach. In a years time theyll probably run a direct beer pipe from there and finally serve draft beer to the ordinary guests. Theres no ice-cream either. The chef doesnt know how to cook. At any rate, at the bar by the swimming pool the only decent food you could get to eat at lunchtime was a club sandwich or tuna tartare. The chef doesnt know how to cook meat and poultry, producing dishes that were overdry and tasteless. So we didnt risk having dinner there, preferring to trudge with the kids in any weather about 2 km to Rogoznica (and 2 km back) where there are excellent restaurants! Gather your strength!

    • Service, service, service!

We stayed 4 nights in a appartement at the seaside. Beautiful view and a high standard. The only thing what could be better was the bed, a pitty that it was so hard. But the staff was very friendly, arranged extra beachtowels and decent wineglasses within a zippy. The breakfast was outstandig with lots of fresh and nice things to eat and drink. Just ask and they will help. The private beach, the swimmingpoolS, and the terras where nice and clean. Than the second night there was a thunderstorm with lots of rain. And the next morning we find out that the appartment was overflooded. The water had come from the stairs and the sewer could not handel it. After a brief call to the receptiondesk there where within one moment 4 persons to help. Without any discussion and within 2 minutes the manager said "we put you in an other appartement, is that OK?" We got a better, bigger appartment. And 5 minutes later we could continue our sleep. So for us, this was a perfect good settlement. But the last evening, some one from the staff came up and offer us a 3 course dinner "because of the inconvience" of the house. So, these people know what service means; arrange things on a way the guest does not expect, quicker, better, and friendly! We will come back once, that's for sure.

I visited this resort with my friends we had large room with sea view. Resort is located on the beach, the weather was sunny and staff was friendly and very helpful. I reccomend renting a boat the price is silly and you get to see all the beaches, small islands and hiden coves! Here I felt like home atmosphere is very relaxed and i cant wait to come again! Best regards to all team!
