    • Excellent hotel in beautiful Spoleto

We stayed in the Hotel San Luca in Spoleto once again and we had once again a great time : great location with easy walking access to the old upper town, beautiful rooms and perfect bathrooms, all spotlessly clean and well maintained, a pretty fountain courtyard where breakfast can be had in summer, a fantastic breakfast buffet (the best for miles around), a fine garden, good wifi, the discreet presence of the cute hotel cat (but dogs are very welcome in the hotel), and especially the friendly and helpful service of all hotel staff : this is an excellent hotel and my home away from home in Spoleto !!

We were so pleasantly surprised by this beautiful hotel in walking distance of the old city (via the escalators). Our room was spacious and airy - overlooking the garden and neighbouring apricot orchard. Lovely bathroom. The staff were fantastic giving us advice on where to go and offering to make us tea etc. The breakfast, served in the beautiful courtyard. It was absolutely delicious with a huge variety of fantastic food - especially the cakes!

This is a charming, older hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms. We requested a triple room and there was more than enough space for the 3 of us with one queen bed and one single bed. Location is decent, although it's just on the perimeter of the historic centre, so be prepared to climb to get anywhere - Spoleto is hilly! Pretty good breakfast spread which you can enjoy outside in their beautiful courtyard.

This hotel is relatively easy to find as it is on the edge of Spoleto and one can drive (and park) on site or in a lot 200 metres away. The room was nice and the bathroom in particular well sized (even with a bath tub!). Our windows looked out on the inner courtyard which is very attractive with small tables and flowers. The lobby area is also large and tasteful and we found the staff helpful. One of the staff (sorry, I don't know his name) offered to lend me his personal umbrella when it looked like it might rain. Very nice! (Although maybe the hotel should invest in some umbrellas too-??!) The internet in our room, however, was not strong and we weren't able to really use it. Reception was good in the lobby however that was a downside of our stay....Breakfast was very good with an assortment of the usual croissants, cakes, yoghurt, fruit etc and great capuccino. It is easy to access the old city using the (very slow moving) moving stairway which has an entrance very close by the hotel. Most of the restaurants etc are at stop 3, about 10 minutes away. As restaurants don't open until late for dinner and there were few "happy hour" options, in the early evening we found ourselves just retracing our steps over and over as we didn't want to have to go all the way back down and then up again to eat. Perhaps there are more eating and drinking options open in "the season", I don't know. In all, a good stay in a pleasant small town.

A group tour led us to this wonderfully located hilltop view with very clean accommodations with very comfortable twin beds. The water pressure is strong & the hand held shower was welcome. Bath towels were long enough to completely wrap you up. The buffet breakfast with home baked pastries, cereal choices, croissants, fresh and stewed fruit, cheeses, meats, juices, coffees, was a great start to a big day of touring. The hilltop view is breathtaking. It is very close to wonderful shops & restaurants. Our group dinner was 4 complete courses of appetizer, pasta, veal, vegetables, & chocolate cream puff. They were VERY accommodating to dietary needs of gluten-free, vegetarian, non dairy eaters! Service was outstanding!
