We only stayed one night but we loved it. Fulvio and Katia are very nice and welcoming people. We also booked advanced cooking class and we enjoyed it a lot. If you think which one you should do - I would definitely recommend advanced even if you are not a great cook. Katia will always adjust to your tempo. Everything we learned was so easy and nice that now we are cooking only Italian cuisine at home. Thank you a lot.

I had done a lot of research to find the right Tuscan cookery class for part of one of my Unique and Exquisite trips and I loved the sound of Il Vicario but...the reality was so much more! Words cant capture the love, fun and dedication that this uncle and niece team bring to what they do. We made so much delicious Tuscan food too with Katia showing us how simple it all can be. Bruschetta, fresh pasta, saltimbocca, tiramisu, and tastings of cheese, olive oil and wine - it was all fantastico!! Thank you Fulvio and Katia

We recently stayed at il Vicario where we were looked after very well. I completed a basic cooking class where I learned how to cook some traditional Italian recipes. Katia was patient, informative and knowledgable. And above all I had fun! I met lovely people. We ate the food we cooked and I learned something new to bring home and share with my family. I would highly recommend the class to anyone visiting the area.

Absolutely delicious lunch... Important tip: you might want to do this wonderful cooking experience close to the end of your trip because the food here will taste like in no other place you have eaten before. We had a lot of fun with Fulvio, he gave us a lot of history background while cooking and the view from the cooking area is just perfect. Our two daughters age 8 and 10 enjoyed the cooking very much, a fun experience for the whole family and we all agreed... so far the best meal of our trip. Simple ingredients resulting in an explosion of flavors. Fulvio and Katia, thank you very much for such an amazing time, we will come back for more :)))).

If you want an authentic Tuscan cooking experience, I cannot recommend Il Vicario highly enough. I looked at many options for cooking classes in Tuscany but chose this one, as some of the others were run by people who had moved to Tuscany and we wanted an authentic experience. We were not disappointed. A beautiful, family run business in the heart of Tuscany. Fulvio & Katia welcome you with open arms, have a great sense of humour and are extremely knowledgeable about the food and local area. Imagine our surprise when we learnt that also farm olives and have won an award for their olive oil in 2019. We did the advanced cooking class with truffle hunt and stayed for two nights. The rooms are extremely clean and beds comfortable. We only had one other couple in the class which made it more personal, but Katia makes sure everyone gets equal time so I would not be an issue if more people were in the class. Just more food. MMMMM!! We did not know San Gimignano was nearby when we booked, which was an absolute bonus. So, even if you do not want to cook it is still a worthwhile experience. Do not forget to go to the Gelateria Dondoli in San Gimignano, but be warned, no ice cream will ever taste the same again. Thank you Fulvio and Katia for our favorite experience of a 28 day trip thru Western Europe.
