    • Large but not great

      First lets start with the good parts: bed linen lovely, bed comfortable, room and bathroom a good size. Less good: location - miles from the shops and the sites (except the Boston tea party place), the room I had was by the elevator which bings announcing when one is arriving - cant they turn that bing off at night?, the menu - next to nothing gluten free and when I rang to order the man on the end of the phone didnt even know if the make your own salad could be gluten free or not! If I hadnt been staying here for a conference, I wouldnt have stayed here....

      We stayed here on points for one night. The staff treated us wonderfully. Logistically, not far from public transportation to the airport or Cape Cod. Very nice rooms. Our view was of the office building next door---watching the conference rooms there did not leave me wanting to return to Corporate America.

      My friends and I spent a night at this hotel last month and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is beautiful and in a good location. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful especially the club manager Sheb Schumar. He was very friendly and accommodating. We truly felt he went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. We definitely had a great time at the hotel lounge and up in the Intercontinental Club where we enjoyed good food, drinks and service during happy hour and for breakfast breakfast! I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel as I had a great experience!

      I have traveled frequently for many years. InterContinental Boston is an excellent hotel to stay. More than anything else, the hotel is very well managed. Excellent staffs!! I reported a small problem with a shower. It was fixed/repaired within one hour and a kind note with chocolates was left in my room for apology. The Concierge, Adam, was excellent, professional, and kind to help customers. Bell desk and front desk staffs were excellent too. I highly recommend this hotel.

      I will NOT be coming back. I booked my room Club King with AAA and changed rooms 3x before checkin out early. The first room smelled like vomit. The second room was directly across from the Boston Fire Station (not exactly conducive to a good night's sleep) and for the third room, a lovely Jr. Suite (Rm. 939), they upcharged me $100/night!! No discounts for the trouble. Sheb in the lounge chipped in some bonus IHG points when he asked my how my stay was going and I told him I'd moved AGAIN (he was the one who put me in the room directly across from the fire station as the "fix" to the gross room #1), but that isn't very helpful when they upcharge you by $100/night and you aren't likely to come back to an IHG hotel- EVER. I am a devoted Platinum Elite at Bonvoy and Platinum with Accor so I was branching out with IHG and learned quickly to branch back in. At both other hotel groups for the most part I have been treated much better when an issue arose. Also, we ordered a very nice bottle of wine at the restaurant and it took them 45 minutes to look for it only to tell us they didn't have it after all. They gave us something else which was nice enough but offered nothing expect potato chips for our long wait. On the last night my room rate was going up to $700 so I got a water-view king room at a Bonvoy Hotel 5 min walk away for $200+ some points and will be walking over in the morning. They have lost my business for good. It wouldn't have taken that much to keep it.
