The hotel is huge and has all facilities are kept in tip top condition. The staff were really friendly and does not hesitate cater to our request of having ice sent over to us at 12am. Breakfast buffet is a feast fit for a king and as you munch away to all the tropical fruit, the view infront of you just relax and calms your soul. Really enjoyed my stay and definitely will come back to stay there again.

We stayed in the Grand Deluxe rooms in the Bhuri wing. At first we were put in rooms way down the back fronting a cliff face and pond. We then asked to be moved closer to the pool, which the staff were lovely to accommodate us. The pool closest to the room was so hot it was like having a bath! There was no shade, so it heats up during the day and it doesn't cool off enough at night. The beach pool was much better and the kids water park was great for the kids. The breakfasts were great, there was a lot to choose from but get there early as the crowds around 9am are huge. The restaurants around the complex were tasty but quite expensive. You could eat much cheaper on the street near the resort. Overall a lovely clean, spacious room and very friendly staff.

The resort has lots of different areas to enjoy. Two breakfast areas, six pools, well appointed gyms and entertainment areas. We enjoyed our time there. Most of the staff were friendly and engaging although some appeared disinterested and preoccupied. It is within walking distance of Kata which is about 1.5 kilometres away over a hill.

One of our favourite holiday spots, this was our third visit to the Katathani and we have seen massive changes to the area and resort since our first visit nearly 20 years ago. Kata Noi beach remains one of the most picturesque spots away from the crowds of resorts in the more populated tourist spots around Patong offering a slightly more laid back vibe. The original hotel has now grown into a huge resort that runs the entire length of Kata Noi beach boasting over 6 pools 5 restaurants and a spa complex right on the beach. The manicured grounds and facilities are always maintained in pristine condition, and the beach is groomed on a daily basis in an attempt to remove the now worrying amount of plastic debris that washes up from the ocean. Thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay but felt that rooms are in need of a refresh.

My wife and I stayed here for the last 2 nights of our 8 day trip to Phuket. We have been to Kata before and I had always wanted to return to stay at Katathani. Firstly, it is a beautiful location with great grounds and pools, as well as immediate beach access. However, for the price premium we paid to stay in a junior suite, both my wife and I just found things to be lacking. Whilst the room itself was large, clean and comfortable, we were a bit put off by the dirty cups and plates outside our room upon arrival (presumably left over from the previous guests room service) - which remained outside our door for another 24 hrs! In room facilities were not great, basic tea, coffee and water. I would have thought that a junior suite may have had some premium coffee (or even a coffee machine) as our previous, cheaper, hotel in Karon Beach did. Other things that we found lacking was the quality of the breakfast (or lack thereof) which we found to simply be a bit of a crowded stampede. For suite guests it would be nice to have had access to a separate dedicated area for breakfast (as we have experienced the majority of times elsewhere during previous travels). We found the quality of the breakfast to be so lacking that we decided not to return for day 2 and instead took an early lunch outside the hotel grounds. Another put-off was when returning from the beach and virtually being challenged by one of the security guards regarding our right to enter the hotel grounds. Although, I am sure that this would have been avoided if we had been carrying our hotel-issue beach bags. The only other concern was when the house maid took our remaining roll of toilet paper, instead of replacing with more. I am still trying to understand the reasoning for this, although it was easily rectified on request. All in, my wife and I did have a nice few days at Katathani, including enjoying some nice cocktails by the pool watching the sun set on both evenings, but feel that the other accommodation during our trip provided much better value.
