We had a 2 nights (before and after our Kilimanjaro Trek) with my group of friends from the England. I found the place to be convenient with comfortable. My room was clean room, the bed comfortable and working AC that kept the room cool. We arrived late at night and it was great the we found our our dinner set and slept soundly before our trek. After our trek came back to the same place and it was nice to rest at the common area next to the garden. I will Its a bargain inn and I will stay there every time I am in Moshi

    • A comfortable clean motel for a budget price

We were booked in this property before and after our Kilimanjaro trek. We found it to be convenient because it is in Moshi and close to the airport, Marangu gate and Moshi town. The staff were excellent and very helpful making our stay comfortable. The ensuite rooms were clean, fitted with AC and mosquito nets. We had dinner on our last night and it was delicious. It's a lovely place worth considering if you are looking for a comfortable clean motel for a budget price

    • Nice budget hotel in Moshi

I recently stayed at the hotel for 1 night after my Kilimanjaro Climb and it was good place to rest before my flight out of Tanzania the next morning. My room was comfortable with AC, an en-suite bathroom and hot shower. The staff were helpful and made sure that we were comfortable. I had my dinner at the hotel and which was quite delicious. Early the following I was dropped at the airport. A nice budget place for the price conscious traveler.

    • Inaccurate reviews, misleading website and photoshopped

This is a 1-2 star hotel, at best. The pictures online are not anything close to reality as the 3 rooms we stayed in were unattractive and uncomfortable with poorly working wifi, no TVs and one outlet. The bathrooms are small - the showerhead is in between the tightly space sink and toilet. There is no designated showering area and water pooled on the floor. Wallpapers are peeling and curtains as well as the bedding seem from the 1960s era. When dinner was requested at 6:30 pm, they found the cook and it was served at 8:30 pm. The website states lunch is available, but when we asked for lunch, they offered to hire a tuktuk for us to take into town to buy something. There is no front desk. One has to walk around asking for where the manager can be found. As far the massages advertised on the website? Those poor working ladies did not speak any english and looked like someone's relatives rather than a trained masseuse. We tried to leave as soon as we saw the place, but it was so late we decided to tough out the one night we booked. There is a church nearby that played such LOUD music you'd think you were in the bar, and that is NO exaggeration. We thought at first the manager was lying about the music coming from a church, but when we left the next day, we did see a cross on the sign. On the positive side, the air conditioning worked well and the manager as well as the ladies tried their best to help. We booked this place based on the reviews and pictures on TripAdvisor, but it is no where near the 3 star rating they advertise. If you are a backpacker, then this is a haven. For those looking for something better, do not be fooled by the fake (pictures of the rooms) or photoshopped pictures of the buildings. I have wondered if they are able to remove negative reviews from Tripadvisor since there is just no way this place should be listing in at 4.5 stars.

I stayed at Kili Cottages for 2 nights, one of which was included in my Kilimanjaro climb. Then I had to get out of there, because they were constantly trying to rip me off. First they wanted us (3 guests) to charge 70$ for the hotel vehicle incl. driver to the Kikuletwa hotsprings, when the standard taxi rate is about 40$. Next they wanted to charge me 30$ for clothes washing. Allegedly the washing machine was broken due to another tourist who used it wrongly. So they had to wash the clothes by hand (during which one of my shirts got destroyed). Apparently the manager couldn't be bothered with telling a guest something like this beforehand. I would've never given them my stuff if I knew it was going to be washed by hand. I assumed a hotel at this price range has a washing machine. And finally, when I decided to quit that place and check out, the manager tried to charge me again for the night, which was already included in the mountain hike. Some minor negativ things were the Wifi which they never got to work and the breakfast which is super basic (toast, egg, honey and peanut butter, tea and instant coffee). There are some positive things though: the place is clean and due to it's remote location very quite. The rooms are spacious enough, although the bathrooms are super tiny. The beds were comfortable and if you needed a ride into town they (usually) didn't charge extra for that. Nevertheless, if you book a tour with Kwesa tours and have a night at Kili Cottages included, that's perfectly fine, but I wouldn't recommend the place for a lengthy stay in Moshi. They say you come as a stranger and leave as family, but one just doesn't rip family off. I'm super disappointed...
