Martin is a wonderful host, attentive and very informative. Staff are always available and Luis willingly answers a myriad of different questions (we used a combination of broken Spanish and English) and helps to arrange taxis and collectivos. The casa has been renovated with care, thought and style and offers comfort in a beautiful high ceilinged building. The location is great, close to the Malecn and within walking distance to Habana Vieja and Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

We stayed at better hotels during our stay in Cuba. Sheets clearly werent clean when we arrived but they did change them on our request. Hotel has recently been refurbished though and staff seemed friendly. Understand the security concerns highlighted by many others as the rooms arent secured and the safe is flimsy at best. Wouldnt stay again but OK hotel.

Would avoid staying here. It was clear that one employee went through our suitcase. Fortunately I had read some of the reviews on here and dont leave anything valuable. It has lots of potential as its a beautiful house but they clearly have an issue of security here. For that reason I would avoid staying here. Lots of other great choices to stay in.

We stayed here for 3 nights then back for another 2. The welcome was great and we could not fault the greeting and subsequent service. Location is on a street that on first appearance is not for the faint hearted when you first arrive in Havana. To reassure you it is absolutely safe and there are no problems whatsoever, everyone locally keeps themselves to the themselves and it is very safe. It is a great area for experiencing the real Havana life yet close enough to some of the more modern hotels and eateries. There is a great locals bar on the corner. The Casa is divided into 2 houses. We had a triple room with 3 single beds. It was functional enough. Aircon worked, there is was a fridge and safe. TV remote didn't work nor did the lock on the door! Although we were comfortable with the level of security to leave our belongings. The room was spotless when we arrived. We found it very odd though that they don't clean the room at all whilst you are there. Towels became grubby and the plug got stuck in the sink which was a minor irritation. Beds were comfortable. We had breakfast on one occasion. 6 CUC. It was nice but actually you can eat in a local hotel for the same or less so we chose to do that to give other places a try. They demand payment immediately too which seemed strange. They were not comfortable when we told them we'd have to pay the following day as we had to change currency, it appears to be a another business within the Casa. It's relatively cheap for Havana accommodation but expensive compared to Vinales etc. If you want authentic Havana then this is a good option, as we spents most of our time in the Old Town on reflection we would stay in a Casa in that area if we has had the choice again.

Dear fellow travelers, allow me to share my story regarding this CASA PARTICULAR which I would advise you take it very seriously! In the first day of our arrival (my roommate arrived first in the afternoon), there have been constructing activities in the building. The beds and sheets were full of dust (one has been spotted with fresh blue paint) and when my roommate asked to be replaced before she uses the room, the owner said that sheets are changed every three days !!! Despite Casas brochure states clearly that every room has safe box for money and valuable items, our room had NO SAFE BOX. I repeat had no NO SAFE BOX. The locker of our room was defective (relevant pictures available) and nobody showed us how we should lock the room. I underline this because it is very important regarding the security of this room. The extra services that this CASA offers such as the suggested day tours are extremely overpriced. For example we asked for a day tour to Vinalles and the price was such overpriced (180 CUC) just for a car with a driver that doesnt speak English, where you can find a tour in an every agency with tour guides that speak English and includes lunch and visits(paid by the agency) to every important location with just about 60 CUC. Overall, we had the sense that the ultimate goal of the management of this CASA is to exploit the customers for more money. I travel for 25 years to several countries in every continent. I havent lived such as a devastating and emotionally painful experience. Without any doubt, I strongly advise to every potential tourist and visitor to Havana, do not even think about booking at this CASA...STAY AWAY
