    • Room was spacious

Stayed recently fo 2 days and enjoyed it. The room size was enormous. I believe it was 3 times larger than the rooms at the Hotel Figueroa which is where I stayed the previous week. The location at the top of Bunker Hill permits views from practically all floors. It is well located with easy access to restaurants and transportation. I ended up dining in various restaurants in the nearby Grand Central Market which is eclectic and casual. The hotel is undergoing a renovation as there was plastic covering the hall floors. I am guessing there are planned updates to the rooms as the phones and other electronics are slightly outdated. Because of the renovation coupons for free drinks are offered at check in. If you want perfection, you should choose another hotel. But if you desire a nice hotel at a reasonable price, I recommend the Omni.

This Omni Hotel is located just a block or so from Disney Concert Hall and the Music Center. It is a great place to stay if you are attending a concert or the opera. In addition, they have a nice bar and restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is great. Parking is easy. Go to a concert on Friday night and stay for the weekend to catch a Dodgers game.

The most important things about a hotel room: a comfortable bed, a quiet and effective A/C and heat system, and a quiet night. Beyond that, one has different expectations for a $150 vs. a $1,500 room. The Omni delivered the comfort and quiet. Pros: Our room was ready in the early afternoon, with the requested mini-fridge. The room was spacious, and the bathroom had both a shower and a tub. There was a Keurig coffeemaker in the room. A good TV with plenty of channels. The hotel has a complimentary car and driver that can be used for a 3-mile range, which was great; we never had to move our car. Our driver Robin was personable and picked us up right on time. We were promised two cups of coffee at Peets, and two complimentary bottles of water, each day. We did get these the second day. On both days there were excellent complimentary pastries in the lobby. Proximity to the Broad, the Disney Concert Hall, and everything we wanted to see. The California Marketplace just outside the 3rd floor entrance has one breakfast restaurant, and several lunch restaurants--the Mendocino Farms sandwiches were outstanding. Across the road, for lunch, is the excellent fast food Ocho Mexican Grill. Next to it is a Subway. Cons: A $52 per night parking fee. Apparently this is the norm for DTLA. Plus A $25 resort fee. This is outrageous; this Omni is not a resort. It has a small pool and a fitness room. The resort fee is justified by the hotel for things like those just-mentioned complimentary pastries and bottles of water. I would rather keep the $15. Hopefully these "resort fees" will have to be shown up front as part of the cost of the room. The outside of the hotel badly needs repainting; it looks like a tenement. And please don't go for the mustard color again ! The inside of the hotel--the hallways, etc.-- is an unstylish sea of brown, beige, tan, mustard, occasionally punctuated by a bit of blue. The rooms are similarly unstylish, and very dated. There are no balconies, and there is one small window behind the two curtains. This was probably a mercy because the temperature reached 97 degrees. There were no mugs--paper or otherwise--with the Keurig; they were brought a couple of minutes after we requested them. The bar and dinner restaurant Noe was closed; there was no indication in the room as to whether there was any bar or restaurant open in the hotel at all. Indeed, there was no information about the room in the room at all. Presumably this Omni has room service, but there was no Room Service menu anywhere to be seen. ............................................................................................................................. You can decide what you would want to pay for this room once you have already paid $52 (or take the train) and $25 per day. And the taxes.

Another relaxing trip. Thanks to all! Hotel centrally located and close to metro, makes it easy to get around without a car. Hollywood only 20 minutes away. Can't go wrong with this hotel for business or pleasure!

Good location, attentive staff, clean rooms. Pool is not deep, but just right on a hot day at 3ft. Was able to check in early. This was my second stay at this location and had a good time. Bell and cleaning staff is extremely helpful.
