I've previously stayed at this hotel once or twice in the past. This was our back up Motel when we can't book our regular place. Upon arrival it was obvious that the bedding was dirty. There were stain marks and dirt, the comforters corners looked like they'd been dragged across the floor for a week. Seriously it appeared that the beds had just been made after the previous renter instead of being changed...even the pillow cases had dirt marks. I immediately called and requested new bedding. Within 10 minutes someone was at our door with clean bedding. The bathroom was very clean. However that night when my daughter went to take a shower she found a dead smooshed bug in 1 of the bath towels. We didn't complain, just didn't use it. We usually park our car upon arrival and then walk everywhere until we leave. However I had purchased tickets for the fireworks/dinner cruise and we were running late, so I took my vehicle. While I was on the cruise I received a text message from my boyfriend that someone had parked in our parking spot and that it appeared that there were people with multiple vehicles per room. I called the office and was told that there is no reserved or assigned parking that people can park where ever they want. The other hotel has an assigned parking space for every room, so I was shocked to hear this. Needless to say upon arriving back to the hotel there were no parking spaces near my room. I had to go back to the front of the hotel and park by the office. There were only 3 parking spaces near the office and being that the front sign was changed to vacancy, I have to believe that these parking spaces were only available because not all the rooms were rented. Which would mean either the hotel doesn't have enough parking spaces for every room or there were rooms with multiple vehicles. Despite our inconveniences the staff was polite and friendly...but we will not return to this Motel again. We will find a new backup place.

A few niceties like the free kayaks. The toilet seat needed tightening which gave a clue to some other poor housekeeping (like dirt under the headband behind the head of the mattress. We had 5 rooms for our party. One was without toilet paper. When my sister went to the office and asked for some she was asked what for? This prompted some potentially funny replies on my part.. but the hostess said well bring some how about we need it NOW?! The pool was fun, but lacked supervision and one of our party actually jumped in and rescued another guest! All in all it was a fun place right on the lake with a nice party deck with 2 barbecue grills. I hope they do a little better housekeeping in the future.

This is not the hotel for anyone that wants to watch tv. There is NO channels, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX....only some of the secondary channels. The room is okay, but the lake front rooms are actually a corner view with a clear view of the playground. The rooms are clean and the price is good, but if you're looking for certain pluses, it fails miserably.

I booked this trip last minute and was hesitant because of some reviews. It was about $30 cheaper than others in same area. The hotel staff was wonderful. They have many games and DVDS to borrow. We had a junior poolside room, 2 beds and fridge and microwave. Very clean room and the most comfortable beds. They have BBQ grills all over, next time we stay we will be using those. They have snocones and popcorn poolside and movies at the pool. The fireworks on Thursday were great and they really try and accommodate all guests with chairs for viewing. The patio is lovely. Big a pub style tables and spectacular views. Cant wait to return.

This was our 8th time at Park Lane, and I have to say this was probably our last. We used to love coming here. Weve brought our twins here since they were 3. Our room was NOT clean whatsoever. The bedding was dirty. The counters were sticky with old food. The toilet seat was broken. The toilet itself wasnt even cleaned. The mirror was dirty. The carpet outside on the porch was filthy with crumbs & dirt. An old cooler sat by the door. The fridge was dirty (which my husband had to clean out before we put our food in it) I immediately called the office. They sent up the maintenance man (very nice & helpful) & the housekeeping manager. They redid the beds nicely, and she cleaned up before we went back in. I DID appreciate it very much! She told me she personally would be the one taking care of our needs for the rest of our stay....never saw her again! ALSO, I was told wed get a $50 off next stay. Never heard or saw that again. The next morning, I go to make my coffee, THE POT WAS CRUSTY W/ OLD COFFEE!! Even that wasnt done right by anyone. I find out through conversations with other guests & neighbors, they had the SAME issues and the SAME disappointments. (Coffee pots dirty. Carpets Un-vacuumed .Bedding dirty. No TP) Im sorry, because I truly loved coming here with my family, But this seemed like its on a downhill slide. The quality I feel it once had, is lost. Yes things will never be perfect. But I notice things, and I see the motels surrounding it looking better and better. Upgrading. New paint. Nice kept beaches. Nice bathing chairs. Beautiful flowers. Nice pools. Cool, new activities for kids. Maybe in time it will go back to the cute little hidden gem with the flower baskets along the porches, and the clean grills, pool, beach, rooms, coffee pots, ect...... :-( PS, when you spend $289 a night, these are things you expect & should get. Also, having a lake view would be great if you could see through the windows. A little Windex goes a long way ;-)
