We booked a two night stay at the Regent in one of their dog friendly rooms. Room wasnt huge but had all you needed and was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were excellent ( special mention to Simon who fell in love with our Pomeranian Chillie) the feeling was mutual Simon :) Breakfast was excellent and location brilliant, just a 2 minute walk to the pier where you can catch the boat to anywhere. We wouldnt hesitate booking here again. The only downside was that you werent allowed to take your dog in the restaurant and we witnessed a guest leaving their dog in their car whist they ate. All in all a very well run friendly hotel with splendid staff.

We stayed at the Regent for two nights with our dog whilst visiting the area. This family run hotel is very comfortable, the food in the restaurant is excellent and we were able to dine in the bar with the dog from the same menu. Breakfast was fantastic, and how brilliant to be able to have breakfast until midday! The staff were all charming and so helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights here and had a lovely time. Our room was comfortable and clean and the location is excellent- about half a mile to the centre of Ambleside and right on the beautiful lake. What made our stay really special was the wonderful food. Breakfast was probably one of the best, if not the best, Ive ever had in a hotel. I had American pancakes, bacon and syrup one morning and Eggs Benedict the next. My partner had the full English breakfast both days. Everything was delicious. We ate in the hotel one night and I had a lovely Cumbrian platter and my partner had the blade of beef. Both meals were fabulous. The staff were warm and friendly throughout the hotel. It made my birthday really special. I would highly recommend the hotel.

This was our 4th visit to The Regent Hotel in 12 months , this time we brought our daughter and boyfriend to celebrate her 21st Birthday . Another wonderful stay and there was a birthday card left in the room for my daughter , a nice personal touch . We stayed for 2 nights in the courtyard rooms , huge comfortable beds , very clean , the downstairs rooms have walk in showers . The breakfasts would suit anybody , lots of choice and made to order , so any combination you like , even Prosecco if you are celebrating like we were . We were lucky to have sunshine so sat on the deck outside for a drink with views over Lake Windermere . All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and will always stop for a chat and give advice if needed . A special mention to Bethany on reception who helped with our initial booking and check in and check out , who made sure our stay was perfect . Look forward to returning again and trying one of the new bedrooms
