    • Nice place

Based on reviews, seems it offers some inclusive options, but didn't have that, so didn't try out too much as wasn't there for vacation. Room was nice. 4th floor, beautiful view. Cleaned daily, even when told service they did not have too. Room had full kitchette. WiFi worked well. Happy hour buy one get one on select drinks, but drinks cost more than other restaurants. (I.e. virgin Pina colada was 80 peso, 40 at off site restaurants, so only worth it at happy hour, but no savings. Pool slide opened our last night there (was previously under repair) Pool area stayed pretty wet, with about inch of water sitting on tiles all the time. Beautiful view of beach, with easy access. Yes, beach band was around nightly, and loud, but didn't disturb everywhere in hotel. Valet staff are awesome, helpful xx and friendly. Other staff is professional. Can do money e change on site. Washer and dryers on site. When had issue in room, it was addressed right away (11pm at night). Lastly, only problem, feels like can hear every door close on the floor, they always slam closed. Not good, when trying to sleep!

The hotel is in a great location and the staff is very friendly. There is a very nice pool and beach. The place was clean but needs some upgrades. I would stay at the property again because of the closeness to the Golden Zone.

The Ugly: We are staying at the ROYAL VILLAS at the moment and are under SEIGE by LOUD "musicians" who camp out every day on the beach directly in front of the resort for several hours a day and play insanely loud "folk" music consisting of Tubas, trumpets Drums and amplified " troubadours". You can not sit by the pool or barley stand the RACKET it in your room. At first we thought this was a Carnival Festival thing and are trying to be tolerant respecting another peoples culture. But it has been going for two weeks now!!!! and is ruining our vacation. They seem to be playing for people who show up and sit on the beach in front of the hotel, the beach in Mexico is a public place and I think that is a good thing but the "resort" is supposed to be a private business and not Public beach access but hotel management/staff they seem to encourage this and set up chairs and offer food and drink service for those who don't bring there own coolers. The wrist band and hotel security is non existent. The BAD: the resort has become fairly run down with poorly equipped rooms, plugged sinks, non working fridges, ice makers, washers and Crappy WI FI which is a "first world problem" but considered a necessity in any decent resort. The GOOD: The doormen are ALL very friendly and helpful and the cleaning staff are also great, very thorough and pleasant. So unless you enjoy excruciating LOUD trumpet, tuba and drum music 4-6 hours a day I would stay away.

Description of hotel not even close to reality. Worst beach area I have ever seen in my life. There is really no beach. Not one you can put a blanket on anyway. No palapas. Nothing No beach activities. Neighborhood looks like the best that Syria has to offer. Run down abdondoned buildings on all sides.. most of the description on Trip Advisor totally false as far as what this property is or has to offer. No karaoke, no nightly entertainment, no games room. Worst buffet ever And ive seen everything from outstanding to unfit for human consumption. And the only reason we got a buffet was when they had a corporate event and we got to eat with them. As long as we sat in the back. Them in their business attire and me in my shorts at the buffet. Nice. Loud music going all morning. After which we got to listen to this twit doing here salsa and salsa tour. Taking over our bar and lounge area. Noisy and loud. Hotel is open to the public with families coming in everyday enjoying the pool. Only common area taken over by outside tour groups and functions. Weddings on weekends as they share the only pool bar. So if you dont mind being under dressed for a wedding standing in your shorts while the guy next to you is in a tuxedo than you wont have a problem. Stay away at all costs. Over priced and all inclusive vacationers are not really welcome as most of revenue comes from locals. Food and beverage manager is watching everything you drink and eat. Which is easy since all intrusive visitors( no thats not a typo) we were only a handful there. My glass of wine was half what paying customers were getting. Extremely loud and noicy with no escape. Not even your hotel room with all windows and doors closed. Music during the day so loud you cant have a conversation in the pool and often couldnt go in because of all the locals and their children there for the day. Live band playing in an outside venue across the street every night past midnight. Sounded like they were playing on our balcony. The day we arrived at 12:30 wouldnt sign us in. Left hotel to get something to eat. Even at 2:30 went across the street to have a beer. They wanted me to pay at the bar until 3:00 . Jerk offfs. Ive been a. F&B Manager with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and I know how to cook. When I pay alot of money my expectations go up. When I pay very little for an all inclusive than I dont expect anything and just happy to escape the winter for a week and be on the beach with a cold drink. But priced higher than the Riu leaves me speechless! Manager very nice guy and staff friendly. Gave us upgrade. Up to the 11 th floor beachfront . Nice room and were able to have some quiet and pretty good sleep. Hotel clean and interesting design but not a resort in any sense of the word.

It's a 12 floor hotel, in the Golden Zone, so it's safe to go walking around, and great restaurants even though we were an all inclusive, al carte. Breakfast Thursday to Sunday buffet. Food at that pool is excellent, pizza's are to share. Dora is the aqua size teacher Monday to Friday 7:45 to 8;45, such a great class so happy they have it. Beach is right by the pool, but no lounge chairs, because it is so close. great beach to walk in the morning, or afternoon. I think next time I would just rent a room and go to town and eat, the food was good, but Lucky B is a good place to eat, Fat Fish (for ribs) Rico coffee place has great coffee. and near there is some good restaurants as well.
