Marvellous service and gentle luxury at this established hotel right in the heart of Fuzhou centre. Can't recommend it more highly. I stayed over a month, and the standards were impeccable from beginning to end

This towering hotel in the heart of the business district was our home for three nights on our first visit to China. We were picked up from the airport by two drivers from the hotel, one in a people mover/van and one in a flash Mercedes sedan (after some initial confusion of trying to fit five of us and luggage in the van). The hotel is quite a distance from the airport, pretty sure it was a 90 minute drive. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and spoke excellent English. Kelly was very kind to us during our stay and Cathy helped sort out a credit card issue via email after we left. They also organised an excellent English-speaking tour guide for us for a day and driver (one of the drivers who had picked us up from the airport). We stayed on the club floor. Even with a rollaway in our room it was very spacious with room for chairs and a table (topped with a welcome basket of fruit). The room and bathroom were immaculate with an excellent range of toiletries. Breakfast in the club lounge was included and there was plenty of choice including fruit, pastries, noodles, bao, vegetables and eggs cooked to order. We never ended up eating at the EZ Cafe buffet downstairs for breakfast. We had tried it for lunch on the day we arrived and the a la carte food was ok but not great. The nightly drinks and canapes in the lounge were also very good; one night we had so many snacks including grilled fish and chicken wings, that we ended up not going out for dinner. I have forgotten the name of the young man from the club floor who kindly helped us with the computer and printer for our boarding passes. To use the indoor swimming pool you have to buy a swimming cap. The level of English spoken at the heath club area is more limited so they use a translator app. There is a big shopping centre just across the park, with a convenience store, bubble tea, clothing shops and numerous higher end restaurants. We ate at the tasty restaurant/stall on the outside where you buy food on skewers and they cook it for you - the smell is amazing. Each night expect to hear the happy sounds of singing and dancing from Wuyi Square where people gather to exercise. Quite the sight.
