    • Love it!!

      Reviewed 18 August 2019

I totally loved it, because the host was very friendly and told us about the town and surroundings. It is located almost perfectly, because you can reach all the nearby restaurants by foot. Our room was tidy and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicous. All in all: It was a great hotel!

    • A warm welcome and we're definitely coming again

      Reviewed 18 August 2019

We decided to take our 2 friendly four legged spaniels away for a few days. They've never been to a hotel before so we were a little apprehensive they'd behave. Andrew and Angela have also 2 springers so knew exactly what to expect. We were welcomed with open arms to this lovely hotel, just a short walk from Torquay front. The rooms were clean, with plenty of extra bits. Breakfast was outstanding. A full cooked breakfast freshly cooked to order, or perhaps something from their breakfast menu. The was plenty of pastry, cereal fruit, yogurt and juice selection as well. On the second day it absolutely emptied down all day and taking 2 soggy dogs to a restaurant was proving a task, as we couldn't sit outside, and there were restaurants around which were dog friendly but who wants to sit by a damp pup, so we decided to get a take away and Andrew kindly set us up a table in the dining area. Nothing is any trouble for this lovely couple, we thank you so much for absolutely making our mini break. We would not hesitate in recommending your hotel. And I'm sure our four legged friends, Maisie and Archie would as well, they especially liked their treat of a few brekkie sausages. We look forward to seeing you again xx

    • Good hotel, shame about our neighbours

      Reviewed 17 August 2019

Ideally placed for a walk into Torquay with free car parking. Welcomed with plenty of information and helpful detail by the manager. A comfortable, traditional seaside hotel. Our room was in the attic, big enough with what appeared to be a brand new bathroom. Good shower and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the walls in the attic were paper thin ( probably not the case in other rooms) and we had a neighbour who decided to phone Australia at 7.30am with a full explanation of his holiday. We were nice and early for breakfast! This was excellent, cooked to order, very tasty and with attentive staff. We didnt use it, but there is an on-site bar and sun lounge/ library.

Having just returned from our 2nd visit,Andrew and Angela just make you feel very welcomed. Our room was immaculate and the breakfast selection is outstanding. The property itself is situated a few minutes walk from the harbour, bars and shops and is in a perfect location. Our only issue is having to wait till next year for our return visit. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone as you won't go wrong staying here. Thanks again to Andrew and Angela for making us both very welcome.

    • Not totally pet friendly, nor human friendly!!

      Reviewed 16 August 2019

Having booked a week in a cottage in Plymouth for September, we decided it would be great to book 2 nights in a pet friendly hotel on the way and reserved The Robin Hill via My wife phoned the hotel to check it was pet friendly, but was interrupted by the man who answered "I'm in the process of booking someone else in, give me your number and I'll call you back in 5 minutes". This he did, but when my wife explained she'd booked a room, he interrupted her again and said " well it's a waste of time calling me then if you've already booked". My wife then explained that advertised the hotel as dog friendly, to which he rudely replied "Well the room you've booked is not dog friendly" To which my wife replied "No worries, we'll cancel" Thank goodness we checked - what an absolutely rude man!!!!!!
