We had a great week at Palmera Mar, the rooms were clean and well equipped, the views are fantastic. The pool area is good and clean, the only downside to the room was no air con and the beds were slightly uncomfortable. Staff were very helpful, the receptionist gave us information of the area, Naomi the pool bar staff was fab! Always made us feel really welcome. If like us a hotel is just somewhere to sleep and use the pool occasionally Id definitely recommend. Amadores beach is beautiful, the walk down to the beach is fine it takes around 15/ 20 minutes. I would suggest to get a taxi back around 3 euros as its super steep, the Europa shopping centre is convenient for the supermarket however its really run down and not really worth a visit. Theres a great selection of restaurants on the sea front, we didnt see many bars. Puerto Rico is 5 minutes away in a taxi if you like to go out drinking. I would highly recommended Puerto Morgan, you can get the bus at the bottom of the hill for 2, its beautiful and the market was great too.

Pros.. The views are spectacular, you are in a prime location and have the option of either two shopping centre areas for your restaurants and shops. One which is close to you, you can walk to it and another which we got a taxi to called Europa shopping centre. I was always guaranteed a sun lounger. There is an area around the pool where you can have lunch which was lovely and the staff do a great job when I could see there was so little staff. Inside the room you have your tv, a small sofa and a kitchenette. All was okay and great if youre looking for a cheap week away. The location is prime. The cons.. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I felt like I was sleeping on a brick for a week.. Its such a shame because the rest of the apartment is fine if this was fixed I would certainly be back. The hotel is extremely high up in Puerto Rico and if you havent been before it can be quite exhausting if you dont want to get a taxi. I didnt mind as I have been a few times to Puerto Rico so I knew what I was in for. The other thing I would mention is apart from your Europa shopping centre there isnt really many other places to have dinner and by day three this can be a little tiring. When you go in to the Europa shopping centre ( the one at the very bottom of Puerto Rico) there is a fantastic place for breakfast to your left and very well priced :)

Stayed at these apartments a good few times. Very clean, staff so helpful especially at Reception. Sea views absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't fault it. Apartment itself quite spacious but balcony is lovely and where we spent most of our time. Kitchen was adequate if u fancied cooking a meal in it, no problem. Worth paying a little extra for the higher apartments if u want better views. Only downside I found was economy apartment which could leave u with view of the road. Highly recommended only a short walk to Europa centre about 10/15 mins or Reception will call u a taxi. We'll definitely be back again.

this is the third or fourth time at plamera mar and have to say very dissappointed this year apparently taken over with new owners who were supposed to upgrade from last year. pool area absolutely disgraceful with broken sun beds very grotty and beds dirty area for sun beds was dirty with no grass just dirt and trees well overgrown blocking sunlight everyone trying to postion themselves for sunbathing in doing so that we were practically on top of each other. rooms were needing painted and bathrooms absolutely needing upgrading our shower never actually looked clean so I did the cleaning of the bathroom myself. Tables and chairs on balconies flithy and ready for the bin only good thing was the sun sets. bed lined was supposed to be changed every week i got two sheets that was it. pillows are ready for the bin and bed bases were filthy. All needing urgent attention and I am so dissappointed as in the past was one of our favourite places to go. so dissappointed.
