    • Beautiful Location with Excellent Hosts!

The location is wonderful, just on the outskirts of Sorrento which made it peaceful and out the way of tourists. Around a 15minutes drive into the centre of Sorrento. Gorgeous grounds with lots of wildlife and cactus! The bungalows were a little outdated and could do with some modernising/renovations, however we did not spend much time inside so didnt matter too much. It was a very authentic experience, nice to sit outside on the balcony and relax in the evenings. Beautiful balcony views also. Hosts were absolutely wonderful, gave us lots of advise about the surrounding areas, and best way to see the sights/tours. Really lovely family run business and they clearly work very hard, lots of friendly, personal touches. They also serve food up until 9pm so they were there late everyday, available to speak with at any point. Swimming pool does the job quite nicely, and the terrace views were absolutely breathtaking. Perfect to sit up there for sunset, or have a chilled meal/drinks in the complex. Would love to return again one day! Thank you!

Baia Serena is an amazing resort with small houses built on a steep sloop towards the sea. The view towards Vesuvio and Sorrento is stunning. You live in small houses with two beed rooms and a kitchen. There are a very steep road where you can close to the houses which is great since space / parking lots are very scare in this area. For a Swede the traffic and driving in hills is a new experience. The owner of the Baia Serena gives excellent advice on good trips to the Amalfi cost,Capri, Pompeii and other turist spots in the area. Only one kilometer from this resort there is an excellent restaurant called Limoncello di Capri. They have a restaurant and a production site for Limocello. The ravioli with lemon was a dream.

Jospeh and his loverly wife made our stay very easy even if we asked a million questions nothing was to much trouble for them to explain how to get here or there . We didnt have a car on this holiday so we relied on them to point us in the right direction . Views from our bungalow were beautiful and also the views from the top patio above the restaurant. Big thank you for all your help in what was a stressful night in Naples in a hotel from hell then a train journey down to Sorrento to stay in your accommodation

We stayed here for a week from 9th august 18 (6 adults & 1 child). We emailed some questions to hotel ahead of departure but no reply so dont expect to ask any questions before booking/arriving. Upon meeting hotel staff (a lovely family) in person on arrival; we found them to be super friendly & extremely helpful with local area advice & tips on day trips out, local shopping & best parking options in town. The bungalows are built on a hill (literally) with the reception & restaurant at the top. The hill is very steep & narrow so its not the place for older or disabled guests. It is also not accessible to larger vehicles (nothing bigger than a mini or compact car). Even smaller cars need to be driven on this hill by a skilled driver who can tackle very steep hill & manouvre round tight steep corners. The views are absoluetly amazing vith views out to sea & the nearby islands of capri & ischia. The pool is lovely. Rooms are small & dated with few plug sockets but clean. Take your mosquito spray as we were bitten like never before! I am not usually one to be bitten but i had around 40 bites on my legs! Fresh towels need to be requested at reception & ask for ant spray as our balcony was covered in them. The rooftop restaurant has a small menu list but food is lovely & the views are breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay as this was the adventure part of our holiday so hotel was simply our base. I dont think i would reccommend this as somewhere to stay as a main relaxing holiday hotel but if you are a skilled driver & just want somewhere to sleep & splash in the pool in between day trips/sightseeng with spectacular views then its perfect!

When reading reviews on Villaggio Baia Serena please do not be put off by their negativity. Although I had reservations prior to arrival (because of these reviews) we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Yes, the complex is located on a steep cliffside which is perfectly safe but do not hire a large car as the road is steep and narrow and requires some skilful manoeuvring. An Italian Fiat would be perfect. We had rented a relatively large car but would have found it easier had it been much smaller. The bungalows are clean and functional but are a bit dated. Do not expect 5* accommodation or you will of course be disappointed. The bungalow was sea facing and had a great balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples with superb views over the Sorrentine coast, Capri and Ischia. The sunsets are magnificent, and the complex is well laid out with bungalows well-spaced offering complete privacy. The whole complex has mature foliage covering it with flowers, plants. Cacti and trees everywhere. At night it has a magical fairy tale like quality and it is very quiet and not at all crowded even in the peak season when we went. We cannot speak highly enough about the manager Joseph and his wife Rosa. His English is excellent, and they are both exceptionally friendly, polite and welcoming. In the evenings the restaurant serves excellent food cooked by Rosa and served by Joseph. A truly wonderful Italian family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villaggio Baia Serena and would recommend it highly. Ray, Elen and 2 children (Bryn and Belle)
